In New Haven County, Wilbur Cross High School in New Haven and the Eli Whitney Technical High School in Hamden, as well as the Norwich Free Academy in New London County all entered lockdown at approximately 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 6.

At Wilbur Cross and Eli Whitney, the schools had an increased police presence as officers investigating threats that referenced potential firearms on campus.

The threats were not deemed credible following police canvases of both buildings, though students were dismissed early as a precaution.

In Norwich, school officials said that the lockdown was lifted at approximately 11:10 a.m. on Monday morning after an hour-long search by the Norwich Police Department.

The lockdowns come in the wake of the Hamden School District being forced to cancel classes for two days after multiple threats were made online targeting the high school.

Each of the incidents remains under investigation.
